Yasumoto Akiyoshi 1999 founded the Moto-ha yôshinryu as a branch of the Hontai Yoshinryu Takagiryu.

He stands in the 18th Generation Hontai Takagi yoshinryu and is considered Ryuso (founder) and 1 Soke (head) of his branch of the tradition.

Since Kanazawa sensei and Sato sensei are both died and Hontai yoshinryu now is led by 19 Soke Kyoichi Inoue, Yasumoto sensei is now the last teachers of his generation who can pass on the teachings of his teacher.
