description of the school
Tri-City Aikikai offers a curriculum that has been studied and developed from over forty years of Karate-do, Wu shu (kung fu), tournament competition, police defensive tactics, Kendo, Iaido and weapons retention but the core of the curriculum is the art of aikido. Aikido is different in its training purpose from other martial arts. Formerly, martial arts were practiced to gain fighting prowess.
