description of the school
Aikido is a soft, flowing and deceptively effective Japanese art of throwing, locking, and controlling an opponent. Aikijutsu, Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo are the roots from which this graceful and inspiring art sprang. Long periods of practice of this art result in the defender's technique blending with the attacker's force like two streams of water, redirecting that force and turning it against the attacker.
