description of the school
Our journey began in December of 2000 when Jeff, Les and Rachel Hecht moved from Bloomington, IL to their new home in Sycamore, IL. Located on the same property as their new home was a newer outbuilding, which the previous owner had used to work on his car collection. The Hecht's envisioned the greater part of the building as an Aikido dojo, and began work in early of 2001 to put the building to this use. It took several building parties, and almost two years of evenings and weekends, before it was finally able to open.
