description of the school
Jon Hay Sensei has been practicing Aikikai Aikido under the supervision of Yukio Kawahara Shihan since 1988. Hay Sensei began his training under the direct instruction of Don Ragush Sensei (3rd Dan) of Saskatoon Aikikai. Sensei Hay moved from Saskatoon to Winnipeg in 1991, where he joined the Winnipeg Aikikai. Shortly thereafter he assumed, compelled by necessity, the responsibilities of chief instructor. In 1994, Sensei Hay formed the North Winnipeg Aikikai (now "Open Sky Aikikai") where he continues as the chief instructor to this day.
