description of the school
Our dojo was named by Meibukan Hirakawa sensei. He did not liked the original name, Haragei-no-Dojo, which he said included a disastrous connotation. Haragei-no-Dojo, meaning "dôjô where is studied the art of the belly", is best understood if we remember that our club has started teaching aikido. The kanji mei in our name also symbolizes the bond between the club Hirakawa sensei, a professor at Meiji University (Meiji Daigaku).
