description of the school
The Canterbury Amateur Judo Club started in 1953 under the name of JudoKwai Christchurch, making it the oldest Judo club in the South Island and one of the first two clubs in New Zealand, and its founding members were instrumental in forming the national body (The NZ Judo Federation) in 1956.
