description of the school
Aikido Shinryukan, established by Nobuo Takase Shihan (7th Dan) to promote and further develop a school of Aikido in New Zealand, has been firmly established in this country since 1984. With the opening of our first dojo in Auckland, Shinryukan has grown to over 20 dojos throughout the country. This growth is soon to continue into Australia, and we also have a sister dojo recently opened in Beijing.
Shinryukan is represented in Wellington by two dojos. These include a dedicated introductory dojo, taijutsu (unarmed or empty-handed techniques) classes, and weapons training.
