Here at Abbotsford Jiu-Jitsu we pride ourselves on being a small, intimate school focused on personal attention to your training. Our school’s system is focused on real, factual street self-defense, not traditional systems “passed down through hundreds of years” of instructors. Here at Abbotsford Jiu-Jitsu we aren’t rigid in our teaching, telling the student that this is the “right way” or “only way” to defend yourself against certain pre-arranged attacks. We are open to change, flexibility and yielding instructions to suit a variety of situations, after all you can’t guarantee anything in a “real” fight except the fact that it will be unpredictable. We liken our philosophy to that of the late Bruce Lee, we encourage you to take what works for your body style and “make it yours” and keep the rest in your “arsenal” as a back up plan.
